Interior film is a professional architectural surface material applied over what you already have. The cabinet stays in the wall. The door frame stays on the wall. What changes is what they look and feel like — and it's usually done in one to three days.
Let's get this out of the way
Architectural film is the same category of material used on commercial millwork, hotel corridors, and retail fit-outs — a dimensionally stable, UV-resistant surface film with a pressure-sensitive adhesive engineered for permanent installation. The roll you can buy at a hardware store to line a drawer is a different product with a different job.
What actually decides whether film lasts is not the film. It's the preparation. A surface that has been degreased, sanded, filled, and primed, with every edge properly wrapped and every corner heat-formed, wears like a factory finish. A surface that was wiped with a cloth and covered peels within a year. That difference is the entire craft, and it is the only reason to hire someone for it.
Kitchen surfaces carry years of cooking oil that no adhesive will bond through. Everything is cleaned, sanded, and tested before a single sheet comes off the roll.
Film follows the surface exactly, so dents and grain telegraph straight through. Defects get filled and the substrate gets a bonding primer.
Edges and returns are wrapped, not butted. A visible seam on a door edge is where peeling starts and where cheap work gives itself away.
Curves, profiles, and mitred corners are formed with heat so the film lies down without tension. Tension is what lifts film six months later.

Swatch images and product codes are Bodaq’s, reproduced here because we install their film. A swatch on a screen is not a colour match — confirm every selection against a physical sample in the room it is going into. Confirm lead times and which finishes are stocked locally.
Where it goes
The same technique covers most flat and gently profiled interior surfaces. That's why a film project can be as small as the door frames in one hallway — and why you can do the kitchen this year and the doors next year without anything looking mismatched.
Kitchen doors, drawer fronts and boxes, floor-to-ceiling built-ins, bathroom vanities, laundry runs, and closet systems.
Room and entry doors, door frames, window frames, casings, baseboards, and crown mouldings — often the fastest way to lift a whole floor of a house.
Feature walls, wall panelling, structural columns, soffits, and reception or lobby surfaces.
Countertops, built-in furniture, tabletops, shelving, and appliance fronts — refrigerator and dishwasher panels included.
Home solutions
Nothing is demolished, so nothing is disconnected. Your sink, your range, your dishwasher, and your counters stay in use for the whole job. There is no skip in the driveway and very little dust, because the work is cutting and forming rather than breaking.
Business solutions
For a business, the real cost of a renovation is rarely the invoice — it's the weeks of closed doors. Film is installed in place, overnight or across a weekend, so a dining room that looked tired on Friday can be open on Monday.
Evenings, overnights, and weekends. We schedule around your trading times rather than asking you to close. Confirm whether after-hours work carries a premium.
Reception desks, cash wraps, and bar fronts are usually custom joinery that still functions perfectly. Rebuilding them to change a colour is expensive waste.
The same specified finish applied consistently across multiple locations, on a phased schedule that doesn't close more than one at a time.
No demolition means no skip, no dust barriers, and little noise — which matters when the neighbouring tenants stay open.
Honestly
Proof

How long it takes
We check what the surfaces are actually made of, test how the existing finish is bonded, measure, and tell you whether film is the right call.
About 60 minutes
Samples against your own lighting and your own counters. Daylight and kitchen lighting change a wood finish more than people expect, so this happens in your room, not in a showroom.
3–7 days
Degreasing, sanding, filling, and priming — the stage that decides how long the result lasts, and the one cheap installers skip.
Day 1
Film applied, edges wrapped, corners heat-formed, hardware refitted. For a business, this is the part that happens after you close.
Days 1–3
We go over every surface with you in daylight, correct anything that isn't right, and leave a care sheet.
Same day
Kitchen out of use: none. Cabinets, counters, sink, and appliances stay connected the whole time.
What it costs
Interior film starts at $5,000. Above that it is priced by surface area and by how much preparation and edge work the job needs — a flat slab door is quick, a profiled door with mitred corners is not.

Questions
Installed properly on a properly prepared surface, years — this is a commercial-grade material, not a temporary fix. Installed badly it lifts within a year. Since you can't tell the difference by looking at a finished job on day one, ask any installer you're considering what their preparation process is. If the answer is short, keep looking. Confirm the manufacturer warranty period and what DOSI warrants on labour.
These are the two places where bad work fails first, because of heat and standing water. Both are manageable with the right film and the right edge detail, but there are limits — a surface immediately adjacent to a heat source may not be a candidate. We check both at the site visit and tell you if a specific run is a problem. Confirm the heat tolerance figure for the films DOSI uses.
Warm water and a soft cloth, or a mild non-abrasive cleaner. No scouring pads, no solvent-based cleaners, no bleach. We leave a care sheet at handover.
Yes — film is removable with heat, and it comes off without destroying what's underneath. That's part of why it works for rentals and for anyone who might want to do a full remodel in ten years. It is not a decision you're stuck with.
Often, closely — and this is worth asking about, because it means you can film an island or an added run and have it read as part of the original kitchen. Bring us to the room and we'll hold samples against what's there.
Comparable, and it does more. We don't paint cabinets at all, so we have no stake in the answer — but film gives you materials paint can't (wood grain, stone, concrete, metal), a harder wearing surface, and no brush marks. Where paint wins is on heavily carved doors, which film struggles to follow.
Yes. One vanity, one island, the frames in a hallway. Confirm whether there's a minimum job size or call-out charge.
